Claude & Kelly - Day Before Session, New Orleans wedding photographer
Thursday, June 24, 2010

I'm super excited to start blogging about Claude and Kelly's wedding in New Orleans. We knew that the day of the wedding  would be full of getting ready, ceremony and all the fun stuff that goes along with a wedding. We also knew we all wanted some real fun checking out New Orleans and for Kelly to show off all the things she loves about her home town of New Orleans. What better way to have the best of it all but to have a Day Before Session! Which worked out wonderfully seeing that Kelly really loved her Rehearsal dinner dress!

We started off in the French Quarter!

The day was extremely hot at this point. I had sat down on the cobblestones to get the first shot, right as I took the shot I realized that the stone I was sitting on was hot enought to fry an egg and that my rearend was quite frankly on fire. I love the expressions I got from them both as I yelled out. My number one rule as your photographer, If I do something dumb or crazy I want you to laugh hysterically first and then ask me if I'm okay. Cause really you know you want to laugh at me.

This next one is my top favorites of the session. You quite frankly never know what you'll find in New Orleans!

Then we headed to the Garden District!

By now we are all sweaty and hot. Thank goodness Kelly loves snowballs!

I can't wait to share the rest of wedding weekend with you!

Kathleen & Brendan- Litchfield Plantation Wedding
Wednesday, June 16, 2010

There is something about the color yellow that always makes me think happy thoughts. So I was truely excited to see that Kathleen had selected yellow as one of her signature wedding colors. It definately help set the scene for what turned into a wonderful celebration with family and friends. I had at first thought that this crowd would be sort of quiet and reserved and then I quickly realized that this was my favorite types of wedding. One full of FUN friends and family! And as a special bonus I got the privaledge to work with two of my favorite vendors in one of my favorite venues.

Event Planner- Della Ramsey She is just the most  awesome event planner and I wish I could work every weekend with her!!

Floral Design- Blossom Events -Barry West is a master of Floral Design! I think flowers grow up hoping to be in his design, just so they can reach their full potential!

Venue- Litchfield Plantation - This Venue just makes my heart melt at sunset when the marsh grass turns into a golden carpet and the orange glow filters thru the ancient oak trees and spanish moss.

Thank you Kathleen and Brendan for allowing me to have so much fun capturing  your special day!

Double the fun- SC Newborn Portrait Photographer
Friday, June 11, 2010

Oh the sweetness of twins. This tiny set of twins has already won my heart as I've been awaiting their arrival for along while. Mom is a good friend of mine so when I got the call they had arrived, it was all I could do not to show up at the hospital. They are like the Yin and Yang of the twin world. The little boy that has black hair and dark skin while the sweet little girl has blond hair and fair skin. I purposely made this session a long one just so I could have the chance to feed one!

Monday, June 07, 2010

Here is one of my recent kids sessions. Mom & Dad are are one of my past wedding couples and I'm excited to photograph their little one. This is my second time photographing her and it's amazing to see how much she has grown in just the last few months.

There is just something about the summer with it's green grass and sun shine that makes us all smile.

Forrest & Amy- Pawleys Island Destination Wedding
Wednesday, June 02, 2010

There was no other location that would suit their wedding better than one where their toes were in the soft sand and the tide brought in the sweet crashing waves. Forrest grew up surfing those same waves and after moving to St. John to enjoy the sunshine and the ocean there, he met Amy after a mistaken identity where Amy thought Forrest and his brother where Hanson. Who would have thought that "Umm Bop" and the ocean waves would have brought two people together. After a long distance romance they met together under the shining sun, with the salty wind at the their back to say their vows in front of family and friends.

Amy and Forrest thank you for allowing me to document such a wonderful moment in your lives. Congratulations on your new business venture, in St. John! if I can ever convince Todd to take a week off we are coming down to do some diving and snorking on your new boat!

I'm always blown away by Barry, with Blossoms Events his amazing design work always leaves me speachless at weddings!

I was almost physically doing cartwheels when Forrest and Amy set aside sometime after the wedding to do a quick session on the beach. I loved how free they where from worry about their clothes and just let loose and had tons of fun. And yes we all got a bit wet but quickly dried off by the time we got to the reception.

After the beach ceremony we all headed to Forrest's childhood home. Where there was lots of wonderful toast and sweet emotion.

One of the best tasting cakes I've had in ages. I typically don't eat cake at my weddings because I'd be the size of a bus if I ate that much cake. But this Jim Smeal cake,  that I've heard talked about in countless wedding magazines such as Weddings Unveiled magazine, was more than I could walk away from. My mouth is watering right now thinking about it.

More of Blossoms beautiful designs.

Many guest headed out to the dock to watch the sunset over the marsh.

Loved the photobooth and I loved even more Amy's lime green cowboy boots and shorter version of her bridal dress that she changed into!
